      Learn Chinese Idioms

      · Language Insight

A well rope is the rope on a well pulley used to draw water. But why would it be frightening? For someone who has been bitten by a snake, anything that even lookslike a snake might make them instinctively avoid it for a long time. But is this reaction a bit too much? Let’s explore real-life examples of this saying while practicing your Chinese!

      (Exercises HERE)
